A Spotted flycatcher at South Saxons today, the start of autumn passage for this summer visitor which was a widespread breeding bird throughout Hastings in the 1970s.  Two Reed warblers there, quite likely to be locally fledged. A walk on West Hill revealed a Whitethroat and Willow warbler on the top. The Holm Oaks and Sycamores have been felled and the scrub cleared from the Gully.

Two Little egrets flying west together above the prom.
