The day was notable for prolonged heavy rains throughout on a humid SW.


 

September 9th Bright early morning with some clouds on a light NW. Atmospheric pressure having recovered to an extent and mainly dry.

Combe Haven CP (eastern side) am SR 52 Whitethroats, 72 Blackcaps, 4 Lesser Whitethroats, 90 Chiffchaffs, 2 Willow Warblers, 17 Sedge Warblers, 43 Reed Warblers, 6 Redstarts, 8 Whinchats, 3 Wheatears, 2 Goldcrests, 2 Coal Tits, 13 Sand Martins, 40 House Martins and 30 Swallows. Yellow Wagtail 125 on then W in flocks, Tree Pipit 1 W, Meadow pipit 45 on and 20 W.

Fairlight cliffs 6.25 – 7.40 AP 1 Whitethroat, 2 Goldcrests, 1 Chiffchaff and 6 in, Blackcap 2 in, Tree Pipit 2 W, Meadow Pipit 104 in/W, Grey Wagtail 1 in, Yellow Wagtail 24 in/W, Swallow 13 W 3 E, House Martin 3 W.

South Saxons 7.10 AG 3 Garden Warblers, 5 Blackcaps, 9 Chiffchaffs, 1 Reed Warbler, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 7 Whitethroats and a Whinchat.

Firehills – Ore mid am AP 29 Whitethroats, 9 Blackcaps, 3 Lesser Whitethroats, 10 Chiffchaffs, 1 Wheatear and 1 Grey Wagtail.

Marina allotments am AG 2 Whitethroats, 1 Blackcap and 1 Chiffchaff. Swallow 2 W.
